Our Honeymoon in Grand Cayman
The honeymoon that almost wasn't.....
We had a little bit of stress the week before the wedding, as Hurricane Dean formed and strengthened in the Caribbean. Eventually, it was predicted to hit our destination - Grand Cayman - dead on as a Category 5 the day after we were scheduled to arrive. Luckily, both Cayman Airways and our resort (Moritt's Tortuga Seaside) were very accomodating and we were able to postpone our whole trip by a week. Then we just crossed our fingers and hoped the island would still be standing!
Thankfully, the hurricane ended up passing to the south so there was minimal damage done to the island and we were able to go after all! We were so thankful, and it was so beautiful...even if it was a week late!
At dinner on our first night - we finally made it! Sadly, our luggage did not.

This was night #2 - still wearing the same clothes. No luggage yet.
At last! A mere 28 hours after us, our luggage arrived!
Mudslides at the pool bar.....just what a former bride-to-be needs!

Gorgeous Cayman sunset
At dinner, with our "Happy Honeymoon" dessert!
Halfway through the week they finally cleaned all the sand out of the beach-side disappearing edge pool after the Hurricane...I love this pool!

The view from our balcony - gorgeous!
Listening to the ocean in a conch shell we found
